How it works

step 1
01
Choose your CRM

Select the CRM you use for managing your leads. SpamClean supports a variety of popular CRMs. Don't see your CRM listed? No worries—just contact us

step 2
02
Enter Your Email for the Free Report

Enter the email address where you'd like to receive your free risk analysis report. This email will also serve as your login to access any future reports.

step 3
03
Authorize SpamClean to Scan Your List

To proceed, you'll need to authorize SpamClean to access your list. Rest assured, we do not modify or delete any of your contact information. That control remains entirely in your hands.

step 4
04
Relax, We're Doing the Hard Work!

This is your moment—kick your feet up, binge your favourite series, or take a well-deserved nap. We'll take 2-4 hours to review your list and give you an estimate of how many bad addresses are in there. And if we take a little longer, that just means you get more relaxation time! OR and if we run over, that just means you get more relaxation time!

step 5
05
Receive Your Free Report

Once the scan is complete, you'll receive an email with the estimated number of bad addresses in your list. The email will also include a link to proceed with a full scan if you decide to move forward. You can access this information anytime by logging into your SpamClean account.

Based on your report, it's time to decide whether to clean your list. If fewer than 0.1% of your list contains bad addresses, you can safely postpone the cleanup for a few weeks and revisit it later.

06

If more than 0.1% of your list contains bad addresses, we recommend cleaning your list to maintain optimal email deliverability and protect your sender reputation.

step 8
07
Pay for the Full Scan

If you choose to clean your list, simply follow the link we provide to pay for the full scan. It's quick and easy to get started.

step 9
08
We've Got the Rest Covered

You're all set! We'll work our email magic in the next 10-12 hours. We'll let you know when it’s done!

10
Review the Results in Your CRM

Once the scan is complete, colour-coded tags will be applied to your list in your CRM. These tags offer a simple and efficient way to highlight key information, helping you quickly determine which contacts to engage with and which to skip.

Red List

These are the addresses you do not want to mail ANYTHING. Completely hands off these!

What's in this category: Spamtraps, Invalid user account, Invalid domain

Amber List

These are the addresses which are very likely to bounce for a variety of reasons, including disposable/expiring email addresses. We recommend not sending marketing emails to these addresses, however, a transaction email (like an order receipt for a purchase) is okay to send.

What's in this category: Disposable emails, Unreachable servers

Yellow List

Some of these addresses are likely to bounce emails sent to them. While it's okay to send all the emails to these addresses, just be on the lookout for high bounce or complaint rates.

What's in this category: Periodically unresponsive email servers, aliases, catch-all, etc.

Green List

The perfect of the batch! There is nothing wrong with these and you can continue sending out your marketing emails to them.

What's in this category: All good email addresses

If you're looking for more detailed insights, you can explore the additional information in the next step.

Mistyped

The email address has a small typo, such as "gmail.con" instead of "gmail.com," making it invalid and causing it to fail verification. However, it's possible to recover these leads by manually reviewing and correcting the typing mistakes, ensuring that the email reaches the intended recipient.

Invalid User

The domain is valid, but the specific email address doesn't exist or isn't set up to receive messages. The company recognizes the domain, but the user's address is invalid.

Possible spam - mismatch name/email

The name provided doesn't match the email address, like "Cindy" using "johndoe@gmail.com." This mismatch could indicate the lead was submitted by a spambot, making it suspicious and potentially dangerous.

Role

Role-based emails like "info@" or "support@" are typically managed by multiple people, especially in larger businesses. Sending marketing emails to these addresses increases the risk of spam complaints, making them unsuitable for targeted outreach.

Catch-all

A catch-all email account is set up to accept all emails sent to a domain, even if the specific address doesn't exist. This makes it unreliable because it's difficult to verify whether the intended recipient will actually see the email, increasing the chances of bounced or ignored messages.

Disposable

A disposable email address is a temporary, short-term email created for quick use, often for sign-ups or trials. These addresses become inactive after a short period, making them unreliable for long-term communication and often used to avoid marketing emails.

Bad Domain

A bad domain refers to a domain or company that isn't accepting any emails. This could be due to the domain being inactive, misconfigured, or non-existent. Some cases may be simple typos, leading to invalid addresses.
